Highlights of 2006:

January:

Jacqueline joined Widcombe Studios in Jan 2006 and found a stimulating and lively environment to give expression to her artistic talent while residing in the UK (for approximately half a year, each year). Widcombe Studios is a non-profit-making visual arts centre in Bath, UK. It exists to support the visual arts within the community through the provision of affordable studio space, art classes, talks and exhibitions. It is currently the home away from home to 42 artists.

Jacqueline participated in two very successful shows during Summer and Winter Open Studios. The Summer Open Studios coincided with the popular Bath Fringe Festival.

August:

In 2004 Jacqueline and Ronet van Niekerk, Stellenbosch based jewellery designer, launched their first joint show: Meeting of the Arts. Based on many of the concepts championed by William Morris and the Arts & Crafts Movement, Meeting of the Arts explores the complimentary relationship between different art forms.

Due to the success of this annually held show (with a sales average of 70%), Meeting of the Arts will be a bi-annual event from 2008.

Highlights of 2007:

Art at KUVUKA gave Jacqueline a platform to display a range of paintings in one of the trendiest venues in Bristol. She partnered with Sean, patron of KUVUKA, in creating an environment where art contributes to social awareness. KUVUKA is about relationships and crossing cultural divides. It is about interacting and enjoying the company of friends in an environment conducive to relaxation, laughter and conversation.

January:

A selected group of artists from Widcombe Studios showed their work at The Guildhall in Bath, UK. Jacqueline sold all her paintings at the launch of this event.

April:

For the 5th time Jacqueline participated in the KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees), the largest national art festival held in Suid-Afrika. This time well known art dealer, Alice Pitzer (Alice Art Gallery), showed her work.

May:

Once again Jacqueline enjoyed the privilege of participating in Widcombe Open Studios in Bath, UK. This bi-annual event proved to be truly memorable and highly successful.

June:

Jacqueline partnered with Bristol based charity, For-ethiopia, in creating a range of Christmas cards and a Cookbook that promises to do more than simply wet the appetite. The Cookbook will be launched at ‘ A Taste for Ethiopia’, the charities annual fundraising event and Christmas cards will be available in September.

September:

Jacqueline meets the owners of BOTTEGA Art Gallery, Alet and Johan Coetzer. Her work is accepted into their collection with great enthusiasm. As one of the most reputable galleries in the Klein Karoo, BOTTEGA Art Gallery is renowned for its wider range of excellent art pieces sourced both locally and nationally.
